Sustainability

GEA Refrigeration France applies a consistent approach to the management of costs, energy and the protection of the ozone layer.

Our solutions integrate the most appropriate components and fluids: speed variation, optimised machine output, adapted production, consumption, and use of natural fluids such as ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2), which have a less significant effect on the ozone layer.

In the context of protecting the ozone layer, countries having signed the Montreal protocol and the Kyoto protocol, are committed to progressively reducing HCFCs. For the industrial refrigeration world, in real terms, this means removing the fluid refrigerant R22 from all units in accordance with a specific schedule. read more

GEA Refrigeration France is one of the first companies to get the Certificate of ability for all of our establishment for the handling of refrigerant fluids (HCFC, HFC, F-GAS, environment…)

The certificate issued from the Bureau Veritas Certification, replaces the prefecture registration and has been mandatory for all cooling fluids transaction since July the 4th 2009.

Since July 4, 2009, the 737 decree of May 7,2007 applies in its entirety. Read the information letter from the AFCE of July 8, 2009. (French language)

GEA Matal sensibilises their customers to search  leaks and control tightness of their units.

We particularly look after the terms of delivery and chemist products storage that we are implementing.

Under REACH, we have implemented a traceability of Material Safety Data Sheets.

Special industrial waste from our workshops are treated in centers and their traceability is ensured by the establishment of waste follow up form..

We pay special attention to recycling and regeneration of refrigerant fluids with respect to the environment.
GEA Refrigeration France educates its staff by:

  • Establishing sort by nature of common waste
  • Limiting the amount of waste
  • Establishing a internal campaign of eco-driving (reduced consumption of fuel)
  • Enhance travel by train instead of plane or car
  • Information campaigns and awareness
